I read another education realism/horror story, at Am-Ren. I was going to link to it, but I’ve kind of burned myself out on education for the moment. That, and the CoronaCold seems to have temporarily resolved most of the problems (Praise!). So, on that issue, I’ll just say HOMESCHOOL!!!

There was also an eye-opening email that came in yesterday, from a southern school district. It contained a list, a large one. None of it pertained to me or mine, but it was nonetheless disturbing. America (when it was) was a nation of laws. Now it’s a nation-shaped kind of place with laws – A LOT of them. Several of them say that student information shall be kept private and not, you know, broadcast in an email list to people like me. I’d go further with this but, again, burning out, and it’s the kind of thing that most people just don’t care about. In the hopper, maybe.

TPC Preview! I have a dandy sports-related column coming together for next week. Then again, I had a dandy ed column for last/this week. Hmmm. Maybe the burnout is contagious. Anyway, I suppose I’ve wasted enough of your time with issues I won’t be addressing. Next week, some other stuff…

They’ve done it themselves with their hoax response and better than anything I’ve ever come up with. Ryan McMaken has a fascinating take at Mises:

For decades, we’ve been fed a near-daily diet of claims that public schooling is one of the most important—if not the most important—institutions in America. We’re also told that there’s not nearly enough of it, and this leads to demands for longer school hours, longer school years, and ever larger amounts of money spent on more facilities and more tech.

And then, all of sudden, with the panic over COVID-19, it was gone.

It turns out that public schooling wasn’t actually all that important after all, and that extending the lives of the over-seventy demographic takes precedence.

Yes, the schools have tried to keep up the ruse that students are all diligently doing their school work at home, but by late April it was already apparent that the old model of “doing public school” via internet isn’t working. In some places, class participation has collapsed by 60 percent, as students simply aren’t showing up for the virtual lessons.

For once, the schools were left to compete on their only legitimate merit: education. We, here, know how poorly they fare in that regard. But now, laid bare without any sports, socials, buses, or other noise and confusion, the results are stark. The departure from the hype is telling. Just like that – POOF – it was all gone like so much smoke blown away by the wind.

Again, the CoronaHoax may be the best thing that ever happened to American education.

When 100% may be forced to homeschool, like it or not, at least 40% are leaning that way to begin with.

Of the 626 parents who responded, 40.8 percent said they were “more likely” to do so, while 31.1 percent replied they were “less likely.”

With political party as a factor, 45.7 percent of parents who said they would be “more likely” to homeschool identified as Democrat, while 42.3 percent identified as Republican.

Among those parents who said they were “more likely” to homeschool, 36.3 percent were white, 50.4 percent were black, 38.2 percent were Hispanic, and 53.8 percent were Asian.

Again, this may be the best gift yet from the hoax. Homeschool or … homeschool!

With mothers being beaten and arrested for not wearing fear masks one can only assume how things will go when the Imperial stormtroopers come to forcibly vaccinate the nation.

The president said that distributing the vaccine would be a “massive job” and that he would move quickly to get it distributed.

“Unless you’re mobilized and ready, you’re not going to be able to do it for a long time. So we’re starting now,” he said.

President Trump predicted a vaccine would become available by the end of 2020, and manufacturers are already mobilizing the production of millions of doses of potential vaccine candidates while they are tested.

The president has also set an “Operation Warp Speed “task force goal of getting 100 million vaccine doses available in the fall, with 300 million doses by January.

Plandemic, indeed. Of course, this is all okay because Orange Man is a Republican. Plus, all of you who worship the “heroes” will have something else to thank them for. I’m thinking this may be THE line. Will they cross it? (I guess they will).

A San Francisco churchian “church” sues hoax video service.

One of San Francisco’s oldest churches has joined the chorus of complaints that Zooming is not safe — with a lawsuit claiming its bible study class was “Zoombombed” with pornography.

“The footages were sick and sickening — portraying adults engaging in sex acts with each other and performing sex acts on infants and children, in addition to physically abusing them,” according to the complaint filed Wednesday in federal court.

Immediately after shutting down the virtual class, whose participants were mostly senior citizens, the administrator of Saint Paulus Lutheran Church reached out to Zoom Video Communications Inc. for help, “but Zoom did nothing,” according to the complaint, which was filed as a proposed class action.

While such an occurrence (which wouldn’t happen if services were live, Corona) might rightly offend the Righteous to the point of mill-stoning the wicked, I cannot see why these Judeo-Christians are upset. Both their web homepage and their “about” section preach the sins of inclusion and diversity, in blasphemous contravention of the Bible, to include “…as such we celebrate the sexual diversity of [g*d]’s [SIC] world welcoming and embracing our brothers and sisters – lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, queer – in communion in all its forms…” It’s a big rainbow, you bigots! Are not the P’s of the acronym of hell worthy of your welcome and embrace?

Forget Zoom; the hacker was probably a parishioner.

Vox Day points out the literal Stasi-fication of the SJW narrative.

If someone had written this in a novel, you would have dismissed it as being heavy-handed and too over-the-top to be even remotely credible. EA is now using genuine Stasi agents to police gamers:

Electronic Arts’ Berlin office just entered into a troubling partnership, one that has German gamers reeling. The EA office in Berlin recently announced it was partnering with the Amadeu Antonio Foundation and its program “Keine Pixel für Faschisten” [No Pixels for Fascists]. The Orwellian program seeks to monitor political beliefs in the video game industry and among players for “racism, sexism, and anti-semitism.”

The Foundation is headed by Anette Kahane, a former agent of the East German Ministry of Security, also known as the Stasi — the repressive secret police that monitored and brutally suppressed dissent in East Germany after the Second World War. At its height, the Stasi had over 102,000 officers and nearly a quarter of a million of its own citizens spying on family members, neighbours and colleagues for wrongthink.

Okay, the gamers are maybe number 4,374 on the long list of wrong think “criminals” they’ve come for. You may care nothing about games (VD does, I do not), but rest assured that sooner or later they are coming for you. Probably in the dead of the night.

This is ~~Little Dog~~ Spot, ~~DARPA’s~~ Bost Dynamics’ smaller killer droid, in action.

A four-legged ‘robot dog’ fitted with cameras is now patrolling a popular park in Singapore to enforce the social distancing measures of local authorities.

Instead of barking, the semi-autonomous robot – of Boston Dynamics fame – named “Spot” speaks ‘softly’ in a prerecorded English female voice.

“For your own safety and for those around you, please stand at least one meter apart. Thank you,” Spot tells park visitors. “Let’s keep Singapore healthy.”

Hear that, Singapore? Next time it’ll be Big Spot and he won’t speak “softly.” I suppose these things should be targeted, front and sides, like a deer. Assume it’s lightly armored.

A study:

The study was published on April 20, 2020, in The Journal of Clinical Investigation.

According to Steven L. Teitelbaum, MD, the principal investigator of the study and Wilma and Roswell Messing Professor of Pathology & Immunology, their study has developed a proof of concept that it is possible to regulate weight gain by modulating the activity of the inflammatory cells.

He adds that it might work in several ways, but their team believed that it might be able to control obesity and its complications by managing inflammation better.

If this works, and if it’s marketed correctly, then in America the potential profits could be super-sized. O, the cheap, no wait approach: eat less, walk more.

The public schools in France are somewhat different than those (we used to have) in the US Empire – namely, the French schools are somewhat effective with education. Now, in the wake of the Great US Biowarfare Attack and Hoax of 2020, the French schools prepare to kind of reopen.

The 10 percent of children returning will be those of families living in “great precariousness” and those whose parents are caregivers, teachers, essential traders, or public transport system workers, he said.

According to unofficial estimates from school directors in the French capital, however, 40 to 60 percent of parents want to see their children back in school next week, despite the health complications. Some have reportedly even threatened to file complaints against the Paris city hall over the situation.

Parisian classrooms will also reopen according to age, with students in the CP and CM2 (six to 10 years old) age groups coming back first, while other levels won’t be back at their desks until June – posing a problem for parents who want to return to work in the meantime.

Unwieldy as it might be, that approach will probably work – in France. We could try something similar in the USE. Since only about 10% of our students are proficient in anything, why not reopen our schools just for them? Again, whatever they do in Paris and Nantes will work to a degree. What we do will not.
