Greetings, friends.

Trying to make using this site a little easier!

I think I have successfully redirected all domains associated with the old blog to this dot-com URL. If you’re reading this, you’re in the right place. Over at the stand-alone Books site, I’ve added a note and a link that directs folks back here. Rather, it links directly to the in-house Books page here. One day I’ll crack the code for redirecting that URL to this one. Or something. Rome was not built in a day…

I’m still deciding what to do with the Telegram channels, the ones no one looks at. And there’s the Substack page which, honestly, I find cumbersome using. Not built in two days either…

Real news, book news: I’m hoping my next post here, at Substack, and maybe Tele will herald the arrival of AURELIUS for your reading and buying pleasure. Any day now, right?

I have reworked and simplified the BOOKS page. It’s far easier to use — all for you, dear readers. See:

Under FICTION or NON-FICTION, just click a cover and you’ll be redirected to the dedicated page for that particular book.

There’s more to do, and I’ll be on it all at my earliest convenience. For one thing, the URL for the independent PL Books site will soon reroute here, becoming one of about four or so addresses that do. My goal is to have that one go straight to the revised BOOK page, but we shall see. I also need to configure the whole shebang so that pl-dot-COM is the default, not -dot-ME. Working on it!

In AURELIUS news, I spoke with my publisher last night, and the novella will most likely launch in two weeks or so! I’ll leave you with a mock-up of the whole cover!

I wrote a short column for today in which I demonstrated that July 4, 1776 did not see the creation of any solidified American state or nation. Then I wrote something else, something a little more heated. I scrapped both of them. What’s the point?

Instead, here’s a poem by Walt Garlington that captures the essence of postmodern America. Or, if one likes music, here’s an old favorite song that sums it all up.

America desperately needs national penitence and a mass conversion to Christianity.

2012 almost feels like yesterday, and it’s hard to imagine where the time went. Yet, we soldier on. Here, I will note that despite my cutbacks in posting, or maybe because of that, 2026 has already shaped up to be about the biggest and best year in blog history. My lazy summer days project, number 248, is to convert or merge the Perrin Lovett Books (.com) site into my Books tab here at the old blog. WISH ME LUCK! If all goes well and as planned — not that there is a plan… — then it will all be new and improved and so forth. And the …books-dot-com address will just reroute here. Or something. Under the new tab, as I envision it, each book cover will click over to a dedicated page for that title.

And not to give it away too early, but we’re coming up on another new title rather soonish! Stay tuned.

Ground-level footage from around the globe which millions of Pokemon Go users gathered over the years was likely fed to the US military, augmenting its satellite mapping for potential use in warfare, Google whistleblower Zach Vorhies has told RT.

Released in 2016 by San Francisco-based firm Niantic, Pokemon Go became one of the gaming industry’s first successful forays into augmented reality, using players’ smartphone cameras and GPS to overlay digital creatures onto real-world locations.

“I don’t think that anybody that was playing Pokemon Go had any vision that their data was going to be used in order to kill people. But that’s what it’s being used for today,” Vorhies told RT on Thursday, arguing that user data was exploited “to play a more deadly game, that of warfare.”

Well, what’s done is done. It’s a shame that not a soul warned anybody about this back at the time. Hold on! Someone did. Yep, it’s another case of read Perrin today or wait ten years for RT. See here and here.

Here’s a story from IRNA that builds on my column a few weeks ago. Translation may be required. The problems facing Iranian publishers and booksellers are similar to those faced by their US counterparts. While the Iranians have a few issues that Americans don’t — many of them caused by America — they also have a few solutions unknown to Yankeekind.

If under the existing mass market system, books worldwide become money drains for all parties involved, the solutions appear to be either going all digital, with all the troubles associated therewith, or, as Vox Day once noted, returning the book to its former status as a luxury item. Both might work for a while. Either way, any way, something has to give.
