The Saker offers some interesting speculation about things in the 404 and some fascinating admissions from Uncle Sucker.
“For the same reason, the war in Ukraine is a sobering preview of the problems the U.S. itself would face in a conflict against Russia or China. If forced to go to war in Eastern Europe or the Western Pacific, Washington would spend down its stockpiles of missiles, precision-guided munitions and other critical capabilities in days or weeks. It would probably suffer severe losses of tanks, planes, ships and other assets that are sophisticated, costly and hard to replace.”
Interesting! So it was actually the U.S. all along that had no stocks for war, not Russia.
In fact the Pentagon and MSM lied all along. Russia is by far the largest producer of armaments, shells, ammunition on earth, more than all NATO countries combined. The lie we were fed about Russia running out of fuel, ammo, food, etc., was laughable and seen through by any analyst with a brain from the beginning.
But more shocking revelations abound:
“In the world wars of the last century, America’s unmatched manufacturing base ultimately powered it to victory. But today, replenishing the free world’s arsenal might not be so easy.
American economic leadership is no longer based primarily on manufacturing. Shortages of machine tools, skilled labor and spare production capacity could slow a wartime rearmament effort. The U.S. can’t quickly scale up production of Stinger missiles for Ukraine, for example, because the workforce needed to do so no longer exists.”
And this bombshell: “American stockpiles of key weapons are smaller than one might imagine, partly because of production constraints and partly because most of the Pentagon’s roughly $750 billion budget goes to manpower, health care and things other than bullets and bombs.”
I’ve wrote multiple times now in previous SitReps the small inconvenient fact most people don’t know, that a huge portion of U.S.’s entire vaunted military budget goes just to the upkeep and maintenance of its system of 900+ global bases. That number of bases costs gargantuan, unprecedented amounts of funds to maintain and run.
Hollowed-out manufacturing, no skills, and a “defense” budget paying for everything except weapons… Globalism much? In the empire’s defense, I’ll have the Saker know that the USSA’s obese lesbian pregnant transvestite “troops” can out-twerk Russia’s manly men any day of the week and thrice on Moloch’s day. Take that, anti-globohomo alliance!

Another liberal laments the passing of liberalism. Read the whole thing.
If you are an intelligent and thoughtful young American, you cannot be a progressive public intellectual today, any more than you can be a cavalry officer or a silent movie star. That’s because, in the third decade of the 21st century, intellectual life on the American center left is dead. Debate has been replaced by compulsory assent and ideas have been replaced by slogans that can be recited but not questioned: Black Lives Matter, Green Transition, Trans Women Are Women, 1619, Defund the Police. The space to the left-of-center that was once filled with magazines and organizations devoted to what Diana Trilling called the “life of significant contention” is now filled by the ritualized gobbledygook of foundation-funded, single-issue nonprofits like a pond choked by weeds. Having crowded out dissent and debate, the nonprofit industrial complex—Progressivism Inc.—taints the Democratic Party by association with its bizarre obsessions and contributes to Democratic electoral defeats, like the one that appears to be imminent this fall.
Take the “progressive” out and this is a universal truth in modern Amerika. There’s a very good reason why the neocons look just like the neolibs and the fake right looks just like the fake left. Hint: they are all satanists and whatever else one calls them doesn’t matter.

≈ Comments Off on A Developing Idea
Happy Holy Easter Weekend, all!
I’ve been thinking. The old blog’s 10-year anniversary is right around the corner and, even closer, I’m about to hit post number 5,000. Everything so far, here and at the PPN podcast/show, has been free to listeners and readers. That is and has been, in many ways, problematic.
What I’m thinking about is writing more fiction with the aim of someday doing that exclusively. In the interim, the idea is floating in my head to do a combined daily podcast, similar to PPN but all on my own, WITH(!) the weekly column. This combo could either be hosted here or at a new platform. Here’s the great part! All of this would be for paid subscribers ONLY! It wouldn’t be (won’t be) overly expensive, but it wouldn’t be “cheap” either. It damn sure wouldn’t/won’t be free – the cult of free needs breaking, friends.
I’ll keep tinkering and keep you posted. If it happens, you’ll read/hear it when you pay for it.

About those tough, brilliant sanctions.
Amid the ongoing global inflation crisis, NATO heads of state and mainstream media repeat a mantra that high energy prices are a direct result of Putin’s actions in Ukraine since end of February. The reality is that it is the western sanctions that are responsible. Those sanctions including cutting SWIFT interbank access for key Russian banks and some of the most severe sanctions ever imposed, are hardly having an impact on the military actions in Ukraine.
What many overlook is the fact that they are increasingly impacting the economies of the West, especially the EU and USA. A closer look at the state of the global supply of diesel fuel is alarming. But Western sanctions planners at the US Treasury and the EU know fully well what they are doing. And it bodes ill for the world economy.
This is real. If you haven’t somehow noticed, you will. The little farmstand guy I buy some foods from put up a staggering list of the supply price increases he’s facing. This is West-wide and is pushing the economy closer to oblivion. Our economy, that is. There’s a reason why diesel in Russia is less than half the cost per gallon as the same fuel in the US today.
