Coronavirus, theory, War

I watched a duo of medical doctors answer questions about COVID-19. Actually, I skipped to the one about whether it was man-made. Their quick answer, potentially valid, was that it was highly unlikely so. Then, they blamed climate change and I wrote them off. Others are still asking questions, to include the possible origins of the disease.

So, you have your choice. Coronavirus occurred naturally, or it came out of a lab in China itself or even from Israel or the United States. If one suspects Israel and/or the United States, the intent clearly would have been to create a biological weapon that would damage two nations that have been designated as enemies. But the coronavirus cannot be contained easily and it is clear that many thousands of people will die from it. Unfortunately, as with Stuxnet, once the genie is out of the bottled it is devilishly hard to induce it to go back in.

Slight genetic modification of the bug might be all that it takes to cause group-specific effects. That might not require advanced procedures, though we now have them. Biologists discovered in 1955 that viruses cross-breed. So many ifs. If it is a weapon, then who made it and unleashed it? If we discover it was party X, then why did they do it? And, what do we do about it? Blaming “climate change” or the Tooth Fairy doesn’t appear to be a useful response.

economics, Federal Reserve, sorcery

Yesterday, I quipped: “Like a deadly virus, but to infect everything and everyone. The sorcerors couldn’t stand being away:” I’m not the only one drawing the correlation; Zerohedge noticed too.

The coronavirus is now exposing a far more deadly disease: Namely, the poisonous brew of easy money, cheap debt, sweeping financialization and unbridled speculation that has been injected into the American economy by the Fed and Washington politicians.

…

So both a renewed financial and economic crisis and an abrupt change of course lie dead ahead. The 30-year era of False Prosperity is over.

Accordingly, the Turbulent Twenties have begun. This will be a decade when the chickens come home to roost. It will be a time when the cans of delay and denial may no longer be kicked down the road to tomorrow.

To the contrary, the 2020s will mark an era when today’s economic and political fantasies are crushed by America’s accumulated due bills.

Bubbles will be burst. Speculators will get carried out on their shields. Easy money wealth will evaporate. Fiscal trauma will ensue. The national joy ride will end.

The decade of reckoning that lies ahead is rooted first and foremost in the fecklessly incurred mega-debts of the private and public sectors alike. Together they have soared to the staggering sum of $75 trillion.

That’s 5X more than the $14 trillion outstanding three decades ago.

Even Yahoo! Finance has open eyes: “Liquidity Concerns Build as Key Market Stress Indicator Surges”

Given the massive electronic paper printing of late, is this a crisis of liquidity drying up? Or is it a drought? We may soon find out.

Coronavirus, science, TPC

The other week, I mentioned the effects of the Corona Bug over at TPC.

Let’s get this out of the way, too: while it appears the nCoV19 can infect nearly anyone (it’s a cold virus strain, BTW), it also appears to be much more dangerous to Asians. And, from what I’m hearing, it really savages the Asian male population. But, don’t take my word for it:

The observation is tentatively confirmed by Chinese biologists:

We also noticed that the only Asian donor (male) has a much higher ACE2-
expressing cell ratio than white and African American donors (2.50% vs. 0.47%
of all cells). This might explain the observation that the new Coronavirus
pandemic and previous SARS-Cov pandemic are concentrated in the Asian
area.

Again, according to official stats, most people are recovering.

Like a deadly virus, but to infect everything and everyone. The sorcerors couldn’t stand being away:

Big banks’ demand for central bank cash remained very strong on Wednesday, leading the Federal Reserve Bank to add a fresh $100 billion to the financial system.

The Fed added the money via what’s called an overnight repurchase agreement operation, or repo. Eligible banks, called primary dealers, sought $111.48 billion from the central bank, exceeding the $100 billion cap the Fed places on overnight repos.

When a $100 BILLION!!! (OVERNIGHT!) falls short.

Coronavirus, Georgia

Two cases in Fulton County – not that far from TPC-Land. Not to worry: first, symptoms (for most) are mild, and the gubmit is on it!

“Georgians should remain calm,” Kemp said. “We were ready for today.”

You bet they were!

Catholic Church, Christianity, Coronavirus, Eucharist

With these churches.

At St. Charles Borromeo Church in Bensenville, there is a message on the door reading: “Due to the ongoing flu season, no chalice will be offered for the foreseeable future. In addition, the optional sign of peace will be omitted at all masses. After making this decision, Bishop (Richard) Pates has requested the same for all parties in the diocese.”

Thus, during Lent, nobody will be drinking communion wine, nor shaking hands during the sign of peace.

Is this a health issue, or is it a faith issue. Surely the direct, physical presence of Jesus Christ counteracts a virus. I am not aware of anyone in history who has ever contracted an illness by taking Holy Communion. The opposite, in fact.

Fighting resumes in Afghanistan.

The partial truce between the US, the insurgents and Afghan forces lasted for the week running up to the signing of the US-Taliban accord in Doha on Saturday, and was extended over the weekend.

“The reduction in violence… has ended now and our operations will continue as normal,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP.

“As per the (US-Taliban) agreement, our mujahideen will not attack foreign forces but our operations will continue against the Kabul administration forces.”

We’re the foreign forces. It’s their land to fight over. Get out ahead of schedule.

spying, television

You’re not just watching the TV. It’s watching you. Really.

As you can see, not only can the companies watch you watch TV, but the technology is intelligent enough to pick up on your facial expression, engagement level, and other significant data. This information has provided insight into not only what shows people watch the most or are the most engaged in, but what commercials they prefer to watch as well.

TVision was co-founded by Dan Schiffman and one of his classmates from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Through the installation of a Microsoft Kinect device, most often used for Xbox video games, on top of TVs, TVision tracks the movement of people’s eyes in relation to the TV. The device can then record even tiny shifts from everyone in the room, and then the company matches the movements to what they’re watching.

The device’s sensors can record minute shifts in all of the people in the room. The company then matches those viewing patterns to shows and commercials using technology that listens to what is being broadcast on the TV.

We’ve known this for years. Even so, so many people still cling to their digital cave walls, defensive of their favorite mind-numbing stupidity. At some point, this is going to become a questionable issue for the globos and the AI: why bother watching such idiots? Change the viewer?

gas, lies, missiles, OPCW, Syria

Both sides of the story, smelling something like due process, are woefully out of taste in the West. Here, another story I’ve been on for nearly three years. Ivanka cried and daddy fired some missiles at Syria: first-class foreign policy, let me tell you. I did, in 2017.

A year after the fact, long after the weather reports and the first responder handlings disproved the official lie story, there was still (one-sided) debate about whodunnit. Now, ever more uncomfortable facts roll out.

In accordance with the FFM’s mandate, the report of the FFM does not draw conclusions about possible perpetrators. In the June 2018 decision, the States Parties mandated the Secretariat to put in place arrangements to identify the perpetrators of the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic. The IIT—established by the Conference of the States Parties—examines cases as specified in the June decision. The FFM Douma report falls into this category of cases.

Who needs positive identification or facts when the first daughter has tears? At least in the interim, there have been no additional loosey-goosey missile strikes anywhere. Oh…
